The Brandon Wheat Kings are back down to three overage players on the roster after a Wednesday morning trade.
The club traded defenseman Zach Wytinck to the Regina Pats in exchange for a 2022 5th round draft pick.
Wytinck was acquired from the Red Deer Rebels back in 2016 and in 169 career WHL games, he has ten goals, 70 points and 74 minutes in penalties.
“We would like to thank Zach for his many contributions on and off the ice,” says Brandon general manager Darren Ritchie. “He has been a great ambassador for the Wheat Kings’ organization since he arrived three years ago.”
The move comes just 48 hours after Brandon acquired another 20-year-old defenseman Dom Schmiemann from the Tri-City Americans.
Schmiemann practiced with the Wheat Kings on Wednesday and is expected to be in the lineup on Friday when Brandon welcomes Saskatoon.
