The community of Russell received a huge influx of funds during Westman Communications Group Connecting Westman event Wednesday afternoon.

During the barbecue hosted by WCG staff, $4450.00 in donations poured in from the hundreds of supporters in the community who stopped by Heritage Co-op in Russell, Manitoba.

Those funds will be matched by WCG for a total of $8900.00.

The money will be put towards upgrades for the Russell airport including a modernized GPS unit for STARS AIR AMBULANCE.

Next up on the "Connecting Westman" tour is Virden, our team will be there September 11th.

We'll have more details for that stop on the tour coming soon.
