Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - The "United We Roll" convoy to Ottawa is underway.

A protest movement to press the federal government on energy policy got underway this morning with 160 trucks in Red Deer.

The plan is to pick up support across the Prairie from those hurt by the oilpatch slow down, and the Trudeau governments policies.  The plan is to roll the convoy to Parliament Hill, join up with an eastern version of the protest, and rally on the Hill on Tuesday.

Organizer Glen Carrit says they are seeing groups of supporters at every city on their route.

The convoy will overnight in Regina, plans to stop in Virden at 11:30, and pass by Brandon during the noon hour tomorrow.
