Las Vegas, NV (CKLQ) - The Vegas Golden Knights announced on Thursday morning that former Brandon Wheat Kings GM and Head Coach Kelly McCrimmon has been promoted to General Manager of the NHL club.
McCrimmon, who joined the Golden Knights in August of 2016 has been an integral part of building the Golden Knights into a contender in the Western Conference. "His character, leadership, hockey acumen, and player evaluation at both the pro and amateur levels is exceptional. We are confident Kelly will thrive in this new role. We will continue to build a team and a franchise that our fans are proud to support."
McPhee, who was named the club's first General Manager will remain on board as the President of Hockey Operations.
"Working with the Golden Knights has been an incredibly rewarding experience and I am very grateful for this new opportunity," said Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon.
