Many evacuated in downtown Brandon after gas leak

Police say the problem has been fixed and streets are back open again


Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - Many were forced from their homes and businesses during the 12:00 p.m hour on Tuesday after a gas leak.

Brandon Police said they evacuated anyone around the construction site on the 500 Block of Rosser Avenue, after a gas line was hit by construction crews.

Police say the problem has been fixed and streets are back open again, and residents and workers are being allowed back into their homes and businesses.

During the leak, police were asking the public to stay away from the downtown area.
