Polls will be open today in Manitoba’s provincial election from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Who Can Vote?
To be eligible to vote, an individual must:
• be a Canadian citizen,
• be at least 18 years old on election day, and
• have lived in Manitoba for at least six months immediately before election day.
Where to Vote
Manitobans can vote at any polling place in their electoral division. For polling place locations, voters can check their voter information card or visit the Elections Manitoba website: Elections Manitoba – Home
Parents are invited to bring their children with them when they vote. Each child will receive an “Official Future Voter” sticker, while voters will receive an “I Voted” sticker.
ID to Vote
All voters require ID to vote, either one piece of government-issued photo ID with their address, or two other pieces. There are many options. A complete list of acceptable ID is available on the Elections Manitoba website.
Voters are encouraged to bring their voter information card, which can be used as one piece of ID.
Registered voters without ID may have another registered voter from the same electoral division vouch for them.
Voter Registration
Manitobans who are not registered to vote can still register at the poll with proper ID.
Accessible Voting
Many accessibility options are available at polling places, including braille candidate lists, braille ballot templates and magnifying rulers. Voters may also use their own assistive devices including smartphones to help them vote. Voters may also bring someone along to help them vote if they are at least 16 years old or ask a voting officer for assistance.
Advance Voting Turnout
Approximately 200,790 Manitobans cast their ballots during the eight days of advance voting for the 2023 provincial election. This compares to 112,814 votes cast during advance voting in the 2019 election.
Advance votes are counted in the local election office of each electoral division after the close of polls on election day.
