Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – MJHL Alumni Brady Keeper has signed a two-year entry level deal with the Florida Panthers.
Keeper played with the OCN Blizzard before going on to play for the University of Maine hockey team.
This is the 2nd year in a row that a Manitoba First Nations hockey player has signed in the NHL only two seasons removed from the MJHL.
Virden Oil Capitals Alumni Zach Whitecloud signed with the Vegas Golden Knights last March after two seasons with Bemidji State University.
Keeper hails from Pimicikamak Cree nation in Cross Lake Manitoba.
In 36 games with University of Maine this season, Keeper racked up 29 points including seven goals.
The 6 foot 2 194 pound defenceman amassed 44 points in 73 games throughout his collegiate career.
