Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – The Regina Cougars continued their winning ways trouncing the Brandon Bobcats men’s basketball team 100-82.
Regina hit the century mark in scoring for the second time in three games, and picked up their third straight victory.
The Bobcats Troy Grant got a team-high 17 points, Jaleel Webb and Tyvon Cooper each collected 15 points, Pookie Saunders was next with 14 and Kevone Philip rounded out BU’s offence with 10 points.
The Cougars held the Bobcats to just nine points in the second quarter, while scoring 20 points of their own to lead 45-31 at the break.
Earlier in the night, it was the same story for the women’s team, as they lost 103-55.
The Cougars jumped to a 15-0 lead in the first four and a half minutes before out-rebounding the Bobcats 60 to 21 en route to the victory.
Five Cougars finished in double-figures, led by Kyanna Giles game-high 21 points.
Both rematches go on Saturday, with the first game starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Healthy Living Centre.
