City of Brandon program helps renters buy homes

Second year of homebuyer assistance program can mean up to $14,000 in assistance

Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - For a second year, the City of Brandon is offering its homebuyer assistance program 

The program, which helps local renters with the transition into home ownership, provides funding equal to a maximum of $14,000 to successful applicants.

In "year one" of the program in Brandon, 25 families were approved for financial aid.

It's funded in part by the CMHC and the Manitoba Housing and Renewal Corporation, and administered by the City's Economic Development Deparment.

Applications will be accepted at City Hall until February 4th.
