Weapons warrant and investigation shut down 2nd Street for three hours.

Brandon Police closed down a a section of 2nd Street Thursday, as they executed a firearms search warrant.

Several blocks of the street were blocked off for about three hours.

Several people were detained as part of the investigation.

The warrant was also the reason for a couple of high profile vehicle stops in the City's east end.

Police say they will provide more information on the case Friday morning.

Brandon Police have closed down access on several downtown streets, this afternoon.

They are calling it a "high risk" incident in the 300 block of 2nd Street.

Police are hoping to keep the public away from the area surrounding the 300 block of 2nd Street including 1st Street and Lorne Avenue, the 200 through 400 block of 2nd Street, and any access to the 300 block of 2nd Street.

This follows a late morning incident in the area of First Street and Victoria Avenue, which appeared to involve two people being arrested out of a vehicle near the intersection.
