Quebec City, QC (CKLQ) - It came down to the very end, but the Brandon Bobcats men's volleyball team survived a scare to beat the Alberta Golden Bears in the U Sports National Semi-Final to advance to the the National Finals.

The Bobcats won 3-2 (25-20, 25-20, 24-26, 18-25, 15-10), surviving a near collapse.

Seth Friesen was named the player of the match for the Bobcats, with 23 kills in the game.

With the win, the Bobcats will advance to the National Finals for the first time since 2011.

They will take on the Trinity Western Spartans, a rematch of the Canada West Final from last week, after the Spartans came from behind to beat Laval in five sets.

It will also be a rematch of the National Final back in 2011.

The game starts at 3:00 p.m., and can be watched live at a watch party at Harvest Hall at Brandon University.
