Kennewick, WA (CKLQ) – Jordan Topping’s hat-trick goal was the game winner on Friday night as the Tri-City Americans handed the Brandon Wheat Kings a 4-3 overtime loss.
Vegas Golden Knights prospect Dylan Coughlan chipped in with three assists while Strathclair’s Morgan Geekie finished the evening with two helpers of his own as the Americans snapped a five game losing streak.
Baron Thompson and Stelio Mattheos led the way for Brandon with a goal and an assist each while Evan Weinger added a single, his 20th of the season to send the game to OT.
Dylan Myskiw made his first start since January 9th and for the 2nd consecutive start, lost in overtime. Myskiw turned aside 32 shots but faced six shots in the extra frame with Luka Burzan in the box.
The Wheat Kings have now dropped three in a row, and will look to get back in the win column tonight when they visit the Everett Silvertips. (9:05 on QCountry Radio)
