Province Invests $1.5 Million in Industrial Arts Programs

The Manitoba Government announced 1.5-million dollars Thursday aimed at giving industrial arts students the latest technology in their classroom.

$347,453 of that money will go toward a new paint booth for Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School's collision repair program.

Education Minister Ian Wishart tells CKLQ it's important for the government to fund outside of Winnipeg.

"It isn't just an urban education system, it's a Manitoba education system.  We have to make sure we have it available in as many areas as possible," said Minister Wishart.  "We have some announcements in the north as well."

The Fort La Bosse School Division is receiving 64-thousand which will go to Virden Collegiate's automotive technology program.
