Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – Tickets to the 2019 Tim Horton’s Brier are on sale now.
Organizers held an official kickoff to the tournament on Wednesday at the Keystone Centre and the outdoor curling rink at the skating oval.
Fans can purchase tickets ONLINE or at the Keystone Centre Box Office with Day passes starting as low at $59.00.
Along with the launch of ticket sales, organizers are proud to announce that Brandon Bus Lines has stepped up and will provide a shuttle service from various city hotels to the arena throughout the event.
"Brandon has a long history of being a great hosting community," said Mayor Rick Chrest. "We’ve had the Scotties and the Worlds already so this is defiantly a "Capper" on the curling world".
The Brier runs from March 2nd to 10th at Westoba Place. The entire Keystone Centre grounds will be transformed into an event centre with displays, vendors and of course "The Patch" a Brier legend that originated in Brandon back in 1982.
Along with the Keystone Centre transformation, the City of Brandon has built an outdoor curling area at the Skating Oval off Hilton Street. This outdoor venue is open to everyone in the community and will hopefully engage a new generation of curlers and curling fans.
"The guys did a fabulous job," added Chrest. "I remember when I was 12 years old, I was a jam pail curler at the East End Community Centre. This brings jam pail curling back to life and it’s an innovation that is being added to the Brier festivities."
